Be still and know that I am God.
In stillness, we can find silence. Silence is the language of God. Silence is where God communicates with us heart to heart, moment to moment, breath to breath. We have become a society that does not honor silence. We allow the noise of the world to fill us. We tend to be too busy doing and not being.
The psalmist says God is the still small voice within.
Rumi says “Listen to the silence. It has so much to say.“
Silence is a gift, if we choose to accept it, dare to enter in, and allow it to teach us.
"It is in deep solitude and silence that I find the gentleness with which I can truly love my brother and sister." — Thomas Merton
“It is not just for ourselves that we go into silence. It opens up spaces in us that were not available for loving before, and in the midst of the silence we hear the belovedness of the other more clearly. As you consider your life and relationships, and perhaps the things going on around the world, what might it be to enter intentionally into silence as a way of learning love?” --Anamcara Ministries
