Last Saturday, October 19, the Peace and Justice ministry at MMOC presented the second session of The Cost of Violence: Stories Seldom Heard. We received a grant from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) to defray the costs of both sessions, allowing us to offer this program free of charge to parishioners and other interested parties. CCHD is the official anti-poverty campaign of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Funding for this important mission comes from a special collection at weekend Masses observing World Day of the Poor, November 16-17. The Peace and Justice ministry encourages all parishioners to donate to this mission. Our parish has benefited from CCHD, and we hope to help provide support for other projects that will be sponsored in the future.
