Our quilters have blessed our parish through sharing their talents and their treasure since 1977! Currently, there are 20+ quilters in our parish group. Since 1977, the parish has received $178,175 from the quilters via their raffles and their quilts made to order. Although the stay-at-home mandate might not have allowed them to enjoy the company of one another as much as they would like, they continued to quilt either alone or with a small number of quilters being socially distanced throughout this past year.
As plans were being made for our Golden Jubilee, I asked the quilters if they could make a commemorative quilt for this special anniversary. On July 15, they presented to me their gift to the parish. Oh my, is it gorgeous! Currently, it is hanging on the wall behind the music ministry area in Church. Eventually, it will hang in the stairwell near the elevator. The angle of our camera lens in Church does not allow us to show it during our livestream, so the next best way to let you see it is via this photo.
Dear Quilters – thank you for this beautiful gift!
