Bush honeysuckle is an invasive shrub. It is a problem because it forms a dense understory and limits sunlight for native plants. It adds little benefit to the environment.
It is very aggressive and grows anywhere, especially near birds.
Control this cultivar by burning, pulling seedlings, and applying herbicide. Do not plant this bush honeysuckle in the yard. Plant native species such as American hazelnut, Carolina buckthorn or elderberry.
