So…you have practiced Centering Prayer and you know what it is – a method to lead you to contemplative prayer – but doing it two times a day every day eludes you. When you sit down to do Centering prayer, your thoughts are rattling around in your head and it might take 20 minutes just to settle them. You know there are Contemplative Prayer Gatherings available that can support your prayer practice and show the way to improvements but the time never works out. A contemplative life of detachment and humility sounds like a worthy goal but what does that mean? And what is contemplation in action? But……nevertheless you really want your life to be contemplative, even more so in these days when change is all around us. Fortunately, Mary Mother is rich in contemplative resources and open to developing others. A new program to develop Prayer Companions is starting soon. You will be able to meet either in person or virtually with one person and share your prayer and your lives with each other. There will be other Evenings of Song and Prayer in the future and new times for prayer gatherings will be offered. The online weekly bulletin has contemplative offerings and links to more resources, and this space has short articles weekly, some original, some from other sources. If you are on the Contemplative Prayer Flocknote, you will soon receive a survey to see how your needs can be met. If you have questions or suggestions or you would like to complete the survey but aren’t on the Flocknote list, you can contact the Comtemplative Core Team at [email protected]
