Room at the Inn is a ministry founded by the Sisters of Divine Providence, which provides overnight shelter for families.
Originally, Room at the Inn moved their clients from place to place, with local churches providing the shelter for the families on a given night.
During COVID it became clear that moving around was not a option any longer. The dream of Room at the Inn was to have enough financial resources to be able to hire full time staff, and shelter the families at their Bridgeton location, without a need to move to a different place each night.
With the help of church communities like Mary, Mother of the Church, that dream became a reality. client families are able to stay at the Bridgeton location. Room at the Inn not only provides shelter, but an array of services that will help the famlies break the cycle of homelessness.
The services provided by them include:
We continue to support Room at the Inn, twice yearly through our Tithing Program, and our parishioners can support them directly by contributing to the "Room at the Inn" fund in our Online Giving program. All monies donated to Room at the Inn through Online Giving are converted to a check and mailed to Room at the Inn.
